The FBI provided enhanced photos from a 13-year-old robbery-murder case Monday and reiterated its $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person sought.

In 2003, the wanted individual robbed a branch of Xerox Federal Credit Unionnow Xceed Financial Credit Union – in Webster, N.Y., killing one member and injuring another.

The El Segundo, Calif.-based, $942 million Xceed Financial is offering a $5,000 reward in addition to the $50,000 being offered by the FBI, as well as $5,000 the credit union originally offered when it was known as Xerox.

"We are hopeful this will help their efforts to identify and apprehend the person responsible for the terrible crime that led to the injury of one of our members and the tragic loss of another member's life," Teresa Freeborn, president/CEO for Xceed Financial, said in a statement.

During a press conference held in Buffalo, N.Y., Monday morning, the FBI released the enhanced photos, which will be displayed on digital billboards in Rochester, N.Y., Buffalo and Niagara Falls, N.Y. Additionally, the bureau reiterated the $50,000 reward offered in the case, which now totals $60,000.

FBI Public Affairs Specialist Maureen Dempsey said, "The FBI has interest in a particular individual who lives in the greater Buffalo/Niagara Falls region, who has significant ties to people in Rochester."

While no one has been charged in the case, the FBI said the additional spotlight on the incident, as well as the enhanced photos and increased reward amount, will allow a portion of the population that may not be familiar with the robbery and murder to take a look at the case.

In the Aug. 12, 2003 robbery and murder, the suspect wore a dark blue nylon jacket with the letters "FBI" written in yellow on the back and sleeves, a bulletproof vest, and a United States Marshals Service-style badge around his neck, Dempsey said.

The suspect also wore dark sunglasses and a wig, and carried a large litigation bag, out of which he pulled a shotgun and shot two members. One victim, Raymond Batzel, died and the other, Joseph Doud, was seriously injured.

Dempsey said a recent review of and investigation into the incident prompted the FBI to release the photos, which were produced from the credit union's surveillance cameras by the FBI's Digital Evidence Laboratory's Forensic Audio, Video and Image Analysis Unit in Quantico, Va.

"The fact that it didn't take much for him to kill someone at blank range and conduct this operation the way he did, very confident and comfortable in that situation, it's certainly somebody that might be violent or quick to go to violence," Dempsey cautioned of the suspect.
