The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates said Monday it will distribute a dues rebate check to its affiliated credit unions next month for the fourth year in a row.

This year's rebate will be 6.5% for each member credit union, which is equivalent to a total rebate amount of $225,000.

Since 2013, the Southeastern league has returned more than $1 million to affiliated credit unions in Alabama and Florida through dues rebates.

Dues rebate checks will be mailed in April to credit unions that have paid their 2016 dues by March 31. However, credit unions that were granted a dues waiver or a dues reduction in 2015 are not eligible for the rebate.

"The rebate is not made possible simply because of operating efficiencies with the league," Patrick LaPine, president/CEO of the Southeastern league, said. "It also includes credit unions affiliating with the league, participating in our signature events, and doing business with LEVERAGE."

LEVERAGE is the league's for-profit subsidiary.
