WASHINGTON – CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference kicked off Monday, attracting nearly 5,000 credit union executives, vendors and family members, the trade association said. From the implications of the NCUA's proposed field of membership rule to the 2016 elections, the topics of the afternoon sessions kept the momentum going.

CUNA board members appeared onstage for the organization's annual meeting. Maurice Smith (Below, at left), president/CEO of the $1.6 billion Local Government FCU in Raleigh, N.C., was elected to serve as secretary of the board in the coming year.
