USU Credit Union, a division of the $1.1 billion Goldenwest Credit Union in Ogden, Utah, announced last week it committed $2 million to renovate the Utah State University football stadium.

The donation will provide USU Credit Union the naming rights at two stadium concourses.

The contribution comes in addition to USU Credit Union's previous commitment of more than $3 million to construct a new University Welcome Center, which is currently under way.

“When we asked the board of directors to support the stadium project, the response was overwhelmingly in the affirmative,” Kerry Wahlen, president/CEO of Goldenwest Credit Union, said. “It is the right thing to do.”

The $36 million renovation project includes new concession areas, sound systems and other upgrades, which are expected to be completed in the fall of 2016.

“This gift is the fifth seven-figure gift we have received toward the stadium renovation,” John Hartwell, Utah State Athletic Director, said. “In consideration of this gift, the south and west concourses will carry the USU Credit Union name.”
