As the year winds down, human resources departments at credit unions across the country remain active. Read on to learn who moved up the ladder at cooperatives, as well as at NASCUS and the CUSO Share One, this past week.

EAST

The $1.7 billion Pawtucket Credit Union in Pawtucket, R.I. announced three new promotions. Joseph Silva (pictured), who has been with the credit union for three years, most recently serving as vice president/commercial lending, was promoted to senior vice president of commercial lending. John Clarkson, who has been with the credit union since 2004 and most recently served as assistant vice president of security, was promoted to vice president of security. Finally, Brian McMahon was promoted to vice president of commercial lending. He previously served as assistant vice president/commercial lending for Pawtucket.

The $1 billion, Pittsfield, Mass.-based Greylock Federal Credit Union promoted Jodi Rathbun-Briggs to senior vice president/chief lending officer and Michael Stoddard to executive vice president. Rathbun-Briggs previously served as vice president of commercial banking for Greylock and will replace chief lending officer Charles A. Bercury, who is retiring at the end of 2015. She has been with Greylock for five years, serving as assistant vice president of risk management and vice president of commercial banking. Stoddard has been with Greylock since 2014. Previously, he spent 30 years at Concord Savings Bank in Concord, N.H. and Maine Bank & Trust in Portland, Maine.

MIDWEST

Scott McFarland (pictured), president/CEO for the $645 million, Saint Joseph, Mich.-based Honor Credit Union, received the Credit Union Professional of the Year award from the Michigan Credit Union League at its 2016 awards ceremony on Dec. 8. In addition, Katie Berry, director of human resources for Honor, was awarded Young Professional of the Year by the MCUL. Berry joined Honor six years ago as a benefits coordinator.

The $77 million Hopewell Federal Credit Union in Heath, Ohio promoted Joe Boudreau to branch manager at the credit union's Heath location. Boudreau has nine years of financial industry experience including nearly seven years with HFCU, where he has held positions as a member service associate as well as an assistant branch manager.

The $514 million Heritage Federal Credit Union in Newburgh, Ind. hired Charles Lackey as branch manager for its Main Office Branch in Newburgh. Lackey has more than 17 years of experience in the financial industry and previously served as assistant branch manager at Woodforest National Bank in Evansville, Ind. for seven years. Prior to that, he served as branch manager for American General Finance in Evansville, Ind. for 10 years.

The $2.8 billion Veridian Credit Union in Waterloo, Iowa promoted Edita Begic (pictured) to manager of account resolution. Begic has been employed at Veridian for 11 years, most recently as a branch manager. Veridian also promoted Ivana Mijatovic to branch manager. Mijatovic has been an employee of the credit union for 10 years and most recently served as member contact center team lead.

SOUTH

Steve Gilliland, a North Carolina-based public speaker and author, has been appointed to the board of directors for the $308 million Piedmont Advantage Credit Union in Winston Salem, N.C. He served as an associate director for the credit union board before being appointed full time, and brings a plethora of experience in business and branding.

The $1.8 billion Truliant Federal Credit Union in Winston Salem, N.C. promoted Bill Jones (pictured) to vice president of digital experience and payments. Jones joined Truliant in 2012 as electronic funds transfer card services manager. He began his financial services career at M&T Bank as manager of ACH and card operations, and has directed card services, deposit operations and ATM operations at two other credit unions.

Three employees at the $1.3 billion Volunteer Corporate Credit Union in Nashville, Tenn. will accept promotions in 2016: Phillip Cochran was promoted to senior vice president/chief investment officer, Susan Stack was promoted to senior vice president/CFO and Casondra (Cassie) Fivecoat was promoted to director, marketing and product development.

WEST

The Business Services team at the $564 million, Carson City, Nev.-based Greater Nevada Credit Union promoted four employees. Jesse Hartford (pictured), who has been with GNCU for nearly five years, was promoted to member business lending relationship officer. Holly Speir, who joined GNCU one year ago, was promoted to business services manager. Noah Elsfelder has also been with GNCU for one year and was promoted to small business administration officer. Finally, Tracy Reitnauer, who has been with GNCU for two years, was recently promoted to business lending support supervisor. Reitnauer has more than 29 years of experience in banking.

The $2.7 billion Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, Calif. hired Kathleen Parnell as vice president of finance. Parnell previously served as chief operating officer and co-treasurer at Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. and as treasurer at Morgan Stanley Private Bank, N.A. Most recently, she served as CFO at First Federal Savings & Loan Association in San Rafael, Calif.

Steve Lindquist (pictured) returned to the $135 million, Reno, Nev.-based Great Basin Federal Credit Union after a hiatus from the cooperative as a registered representative, licensed insurance agent and financial consultant. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.

The $4.2 billion, Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Ent Federal Credit Union hired Brian McQuinn as an in-house legal analyst supporting the organization's risk management and compliance departments. He joined Ent through a legal residency program that provides new lawyers with employment and training opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable in today's legal employment marketplace.

TRADES

Nichole Seabron joined NASCUS as its vice president, legislative/regulatory counsel. Before joining NASCUS, Seabron was an attorney advisor with the Federal Emergency Management Agency in Washington. Prior to that, she served as federal compliance counsel/regulatory affairs for CUNA, also in Washington. Before that, she was a corporate compliance officer/assistant vice president for Bank of America, Private Bank in Washington.

CUSOs

Share One, Inc. in Memphis, Tenn. hired Jose Garcia as senior sales representative for its Western Division. Garcia previously worked for a San Diego-based credit union within the lending and the back office sides of the business before expanding his industry expertise with a major core vendor. His experience includes the startup of two core processing companies, the latest taking place in 2010.
