Taunton Federal Credit Union's Operation Christmas has helped make the holidays a bit brighter for area children.
As part of its Operation Christmas program, the $144 million credit union based in Taunton, Mass. partnered with Citizens for Citizens to donate toys to children and families in need.
Through the program, staffers were able to donate toys to help 45 local children and families.

Members were also able to help donate toys through Taunton FCU's Holiday Loan promotion. As part of the promotion, the credit union pledged to donate $10 for every approved holiday loan. Over the past five years the annual promotion has raised some $5,000 in toys.
