Diamond Credit Union has been busy doing its part to spread holiday cheer throughout the communities it serves.

This year the $476 million credit union's branches held two major food drives, a toy drive, raised money for the American Cancer Society and Boyertown MultiService, and staffers even donned ugly sweaters for various causes.

charitable givingIn Wyomissing, the team hosted an Angel Tree for the Children's Home of Reading and provided gifts for 25 local children. They also collected over 144 pounds of food and personal care items for the Greater Berks Food Bank.

charitable givingIn Pottstown, the team led a Salvation Army food drive with help from the Exeter and Boyertown Branches. In Boyertown, the team decorated a tree for the Boyertown MultiService Annual Festival of Trees fundraiser. At the Reading Health System Branch, the team has been selling Reading Coffee Roasters coffee as a fabulous gift and fundraiser for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

As further proof there is nothing they wouldn't do for their community, employees have posted pictures of themselves sporting their ugliest Christmas sweater in a show of support for the 13 charities participating in Diamond CU's Shoot For CommYOUNITY challenge at the Reading Royals.

One charity organization will win a $250 donation and a runner up will receive $100.
