CUNA named New Jersey Credit Union League President/CEO Greg Michlig its new deputy chief engagement officer, according to a statement released Monday from the New Jersey league and CUNA.

“Greg will play a key leadership role in engaging credit union system business partners and other organizations to enlist their involvement and support in CUNA's mission and the credit union system vision,” CUNA Chief Engagement Officer Susan Newton said.

Prior to joining the New Jersey league in May 2013, Michlig worked as a senior director of member relations at CUES. From 1999 to 2008, he worked for Pemco Technology Services as a senior account executive, following an earlier stint at CUES in supplier relations.

“The league is saddened to lose Greg. The programs and cost savings measures he implemented will continue for years to come,” Linda McFadden, New Jersey league board chair and president/CEO of the $169 million XCEL Federal Credit union in Bloomfield, N.J., said. “We wish him well and look forward to seeing his continued efforts in the credit union industry.”
