If you haven't yet registered for CU Times' complimentary virtual event, "Data Breach Defense," be sure to do so ASAP. With cybercriminals continuing to strike credit unions and their supporting business partners, building a strong defense against breaches is more important now than ever, and our virtual event's packed agenda is designed to help members of the credit union community get a leg up in protecting their personal data.

Attendees will have the chance to weigh their credit union's liability and risks, as well as discover key security measures for warding off cybercriminals. Plus, we'll cover the latest legislative and regulatory news in regard to cybersecurity and how it could affect credit unions.

The all-day event will feature insights from top security and regulatory experts and CU Times staff members, including:

  • Jim Stickley, CEO of Stickley on Security
  • CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle
  • Tim Segerson, deputy director of the NCUA Office of Examination and Insurance
  • Gene Fredriksen, vice president, chief information security officer for PSCU
  • Sue Landauer, forensic accountant for Wojeski & Company CPAs
  • Ann D. Davidson, vice president of risk consulting for Allied Solutions, LLC
  • CU Times Publisher/Editor-in-Chief Sarah Snell Cooke
  • CU Times Executive Editor Heather Anderson

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The day will begin with an opening keynote, "Know Your Vulnerabilities: Credit Unions Are Only as Secure as Their Weakest Links," and will then move on to three Hot Button panels: "Understanding Government's Role in Thwarting Cyber Attacks," "Lessons Learned: How One Credit Union Now Combats Cyber Threats" and "Identifying the Threats From Within."
