Kinecta Federal Credit Union members, employees, family and friends came out in force to show their support for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games.

Some 300 strong, Team Kinecta hosted four free Fans in the Stands event to help fill the audience, cheer and create excitement for the athletes during competition, including Open Water Swim at Alamitos Beach, Basketball at USC and Gymnastics and Softball at UCLA.

special olympics world gameFans were provided not only red Team Kinecta t-shirts but also branded thundersticks, megaphones and hand fans to help ramp up the noise and fun.

special olympics world gamesThe Manhattan Beach, Calif.- based credit union not only provided free round trip bus transportation to Fan in the Stand venues but also assembled 200 welcome baskets for athletes. Some 50 employees were on hand for Host Town activities helping to greet and guide the athletes from around the world. In addition, as part of the $3.6 billion credit union's 75th Anniversary Celebration, more than $3,600 was raised to benefit World Games Host Town Manhattan Beach. 

 

The 2015 Special Olympics World Games featured 25 Olympic-style sports in venues throughout the Los Angeles region. According to event officials, with 7,000 athletes representing 177 countries, along with 30,000 volunteers and 500,000 spectators, it represented the largest sports and humanitarian event in 2015, and the single biggest event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games.
