Cardtek, a Chicago-based fintech software developer, has introduced a new card issuance platform called CHIPXpert – Issuance, which the company said offers financial institutions a faster, cheaper option for chip-enabled card printing.

According to Cardtek, CHIPXpert – Issuance evolved out of an existing product, Palmaris, which is designed to assist financial institutions with the EMV migration. The company said the new solution is not only easy to integrate into existing systems, but can be installed in one click, and incorporates various requirements for instant card issuance and printing services in a single software application. Due to the speed of the installation process, CHIPXpert – Issuance is an efficient alternative to other solutions that require weeks' worth of labor to set up, Cardtek said.

“Developed by our talented group of engineers in just four months, our upgraded solution offers a better performance and easier user management,” Ozgur Gungor, general manager of Cardtek Mobile & EMV Solutions, said. “We have significantly reduced the time dedicated to configuration and integration phases, leading to major performance enhancements for our customers globally. Our immediate next goal is to provide the same effective and fast management to other chip manufacturers' products/offerings to offer a smoother transition process with fast installation.”

Cardtek recently adapted CHIPXpert – Issuance for its long-term business partner, the Jacksonville, Fla.-based, fintech solutions provider FIS Global, which has been using Cardtek's card personalization and printing solutions since 2012.

Designed to serve both financial institutions and card printing companies, CHIPXpert – Issuance allows a wide range of customers to meet a variety of requirements through its upgraded, contemporary technical infrastructure, Cardtek added.

With at least 167 million adults in America using at least one credit card, Cardtek said its goal is to give the industry a much-needed facelift and to assist relevant parties with making the October 2015 EMV transition deadline.

There are currently 1.8 billion U.S. payment cards in circulation, according to Federal Reserve Payment Studies. Approximately 600 million Americans are projected to receive an EMV chip card by the end of 2015, according to the Princeton Junction, N.J.-based Smart Card Alliance.
