The Pasadena, Calif.-based Wescom Credit Union has entered into a major sponsorship and branding deal with UCLA and the Rose Bowl Stadium, according to a press release.
The credit union, which as $3.2 billion in assets and 189,000 members, will be the presenting sponsor at UCLA home football and men's basketball games, according to the announcement. Also, ATMs in the Rose Bowl Stadium will bear the credit union's name and be fee-free for members of credit unions in the CO-OP ATM network. Signage, video board content, tickets and hospitality, a radio campaign and presenting sponsorship of UCLA's official student group are also part of the deal, it said.
"Wescom has developed a comprehensive plan in its partnership with UCLA Athletics and the Rose Bowl Stadium to raise awareness of the benefits they provide to Southern California communities; develop relationships with UCLA student athletes, fans and alumni; increase credit union membership and give Wescom members the opportunity to benefit from the partnership," Paul Engl, general manager of IMG Los Angeles, which markets sponsorship rights for UCLA and the Rose Bowl Stadium, said.
Wescom also said it will open a branch in Los Angeles' Westwood neighborhood, which is close to the UCLA campus. In addition, a connector road leading to the Rose Bowl Stadium will be renamed "Wescom Way." It will also develop and manage financial literacy programs for UCLA student athletes.
The financial terms of the five-year agreement, which IMG brokered, were not disclosed.
