It's not easy to build an Internet radio show following.

When Eloquent Online's Power of Performance debuted on March 5, 2010, there were four other credit union shows online.

Today, with more than 100,000 listens, the show, co-hosted by owner Jason M. Dias and Troy Hall, COO of the $1.38 billion, South Charleston, S.C.-based South Carolina Federal Credit Union, is the only one still on the air.

"I remember the first week we had 38 listens and I was very worried that we would not make it through the rest of the year," Dias said of the show he created, which asked the question: If your brand were a band, would you leave the audience wanting more?

Wanting to focus on the idea of credit unions putting on a live performance every day, Dias said the show, which airs live every Friday at noon ET, serves as a metaphor.

"Like credit unions, we want to put on a great live performance, but we have technical issues, and unexpected changes that we have to deal with while keeping the show going forward," he said.

When Jim Blaine, president/CEO of the Raleigh, N.C-based, $30.8 billion SECU, announced the nation's second largest credit union had left CUNA, Dias had him on the show for a live interview within a week. To date, that interview has been the most-listened to episode.

Never a "credit union marketplace darling," Dias has, over the years, sparked a few controversial industry discussions with tough, sometimes polarizing questions and online debates.

"In the end we put on a fun and informative show that you can listen to when you want, and the results speak for themselves," Dias said.
