EAST

Roland Narofskuy, regional vice president for the $302 million Maine Savings Federal Credit Union in Hampden, was recognized with the credit union's Cecil C. Porter Extraordinary Service Award. He was selected for the award for his commitment to member service and community involvement.

Bruce Beaudette, retired president/CEO of the $465 million Sunmark Federal Credit Union in Latham, N.Y. was inducted into the 2015 New York Credit Union Hall of Fame by the New York Credit Union Association in June. Beaudette led Sunmark FCU's growth from a single office with eight employees to 185 employees and 10 branches throughout the Capital Region.

MIDWEST

The $486 million Heritage Federal Credit Union in Newburgh, Ind. hired Brett Slayden as its new area manager of member service. He previously served as manager of retail operations for the $170 million Fitzsimons Federal Credit Union in Aurora, Colo.

Alan Kemp McMorris, president/CEO of the $294 million Oakland County Credit Union in Waterford, Mich., was re-elected treasurer of the board for CO-OP Financial Services in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Elected to the board in 2010, McMorris served as board treasurer since 2014, and he also served as board secretary for two years.

Dr. Ann Hoyt, a 21-year member of the $1.9 billion UW Credit Union in Madison, Wis., was inducted into the 2015 Cooperative Hall of Fame in Washington in May. Hoyt began her cooperative career as a member of the Berkley Consumer Food Co-op in the 1960s. She later served on the board of the National Cooperative Bank, National Cooperative Business Association as well as the Consumer Cooperative Management Association. She was elected to the UW Credit Union board of directors in 1994.

SOUTH

Jane G. Watkins, president/CEO of the Virginia Credit Union in North Chesterfield, announced plans to retire on March 31, 2016 after 33 years of service. Since becoming president/CEO in 2000, Watkins led the credit union's growth from 125,000 members to more than 240,000 today. The cooperative's assets also grew from $629 million in 2000 to $2.7 billion today. She also expanded the number of branches from nine to 17. Virginia CU's board of directors has appointed a CEO transition committee to find Watkins' successor.

The $89 million United Community Credit Union promoted Eddie Bonilla to senior vice president and chief operations officer. He previously served as vice president of lending for the Galena Park, Texas-based cooperative.

Ken Peavy was named vice president of wealth management at the $1.1 billion MAX Credit Union in Montgomery, Ala. He built his financial career while living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Memphis, Tenn. before returning home to Montgomery, serving most recently as a wealth manager.

The $4.8 billion Delta Community Credit Union in Atlanta hired Ben Walker as a senior commercial lender. He most recently served as senior vice president of commercial banking at United Community Bank in Marietta.

Debbie Kohl was hired as the new vice president of accounting for the $2.8 billion Northwest Federal Credit Union in Herndon, Va. She previously served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer for Centennial Bank.

George P. Kite III, chief financial officer for the $371 million Call Federal Credit Union in Richmond, was named Virginia's top CFO by Virginia Business magazine in the category of small nonprofit organization. Serving as Call FCU's CFO since 2006, Kite, who also serves at the credit union vice president of human resources, led a series of financial education workshops for homeless veterans.

WEST

The $3.7 billion Kinecta Federal Credit Union in Manhattan Beach, Calif., hired Shane Knighton as vice president of business services and operations. He previously served as vice president of business services for the $2 billion Western Federal Credit Union in Hawthorne, Calif.

The $4.1 billion Ent Federal Credit Union in Colorado Springs, Colo. hired Margarette Elwell as an internal audit manager. She most recently served as senior internal auditor at Vectrus, Inc. in Colorado Springs for more than two years.

The $431 million SkyOne Federal Credit Union in Hawthorne, Calif., welcomed Rick Thompson as its newest member of the cooperative's board of directors. For 14 years, Thompson served on SkyOne's supervisory committee.

TRADES

CUNA named Douglas Kiker chief strategic communications officer effective July 10. For the last eight years, Kiker worked for Kekst and Company, a New York-based strategic corporate communications firm. He also worked for a decade as a journalist for 60 Minutes, CBS News' Political Unit, and in the Washington bureaus of the Associated Press and Fox News.

The National Credit Union Foundation in Madison, Wis., promoted Mark Lynch to senior program manager and hired Andrew Johnson as national program manager and Lacey Adler as marketing and communications manager. Lynch joined NCUF several years ago and worked in various capacities. Johnson previously served as a marketing outreach team leaders for the $2.8 billion Members 1st Federal Credit Union in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Adler joined NCUF earlier this year and will be responsible for executing communications initiatives and supporting national programs, services and fundraising events.
