Corporate credit union Corporate One Federal Credit Union has launched an EMV-ready cards program for small to mid-size credit unions, it announced Thursday.

The program, called Clique, is the result of a partnership with PSCU, a CUSO headquartered in St. Petersburg, Fla. The program uses the First Data STAR network and offers card platforms through MasterCard or Visa, according to Corporate One.

“More than 65% of our membership is small and mid-sized credit unions,” Corporate One FCU Vice President Toby Thomas said. “Because we have been dedicated to serving this segment of the credit union industry for many years, we were well-acquainted with the need for a turnkey, fully supported cards program, and we developed Clique to meet this need.”

As part of the promotion, credit unions can have up to 10,000 credit and debit cards reissued for free, saving up to $100,000 per credit union, according to Corporate One. Corporate One is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.

Last month, PSCU became certified to issue EMV debit cards on First Data's Debit Solutions Platform and plans to begin deploying the cards via its 800-plus member-owner credit unions across the country.

After October 2015, retailers and other merchants will be held financially liable for any counterfeit fraud losses associated with debit and credit cards that are present at the time of the transaction.
