The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based data processor CU*Answers is working on revamping its CU*BASE core platform menu system. Instead of traditional, menu-driven navigation, users will see a single, customizable home page with powerful search capabilities.

The site also contains new ways for organizing tools according to each person's responsibilities and preferences.

Borrowing techniques from the online tools that staff members use in their everyday lives, this new style of navigation means that CU*BASE can help credit union staff find what they need, quickly and intuitively, the CUSO said.

The goal of this enhancement to CU*BASE is to better serve the Google generation, for whom searching in the new norm. An "it's me" focus with more user-defined preferences shows the user only what they need, and scales back on the number of features a user has to wade through to find what they want, all with the goal of helping credit unions and their staff be more efficient and effective.

Founded more than 40 years ago, CU*Answers is a 100% credit union-owned cooperative CUSO providing services to credit unions representing more than 1.7 million members and $15.7 billion in credit union assets.

In related news, in May 2015 a letter was mailed to the CEO of each CU*Answers credit union that is currently partnered with Fiserv for its bill pay product. In this letter, it detailed the future of the relationship between CU*Answers and Fiserv as it relates to continued bill pay development.

In addition to the news regarding its relationship with Brookfield, Wis.-based Fiserv for its bill pay services, the letter also outlined a new approach for CU*Answers and its ability to give credit unions more choices in how they offer bill pay services to their members. In the works are iPay and Payveris bill pay options, both credit union-managed integrations.
