DHCU Community Credit Union, headquartered in Moline, Ill., has changed its name to Vibrant Credit Union, the $696 million credit union has announced.
On March 24, 2015, a quorum of members unanimously voted to change the brand from DHCU Community Credit Union to Vibrant Credit Union, it said. The credit union currently has about 31,000 members.
DHCU started 80 years ago by eight factory workers at the John Deere Harvester Works Plant. In 2006, the credit union, then called Deere Harvester Credit Union, became DHCU Community Credit Union after Deere & Company asked it to remove the name affiliation.
Signage will change at the credit union's seven branches during the last week of April and the first week of May. The credit union said it will also launch a new website on May 4 and plans to roll out new online and mobile banking products in late May or early June.
The credit union also said it plans to build three new branches in 2015 and two to three branches per year going forward.
