Philadelphia's professional soccer team, the Philadelphia Union, and its stadium, the PPL Park, have named the $1.6 billion, 107,000-member TruMark Financial Credit Union as their official financial institution.
The credit union will issue exclusive Union-branded credit and debit cards that will allow cardholders to buy team merchandise and tickets at a discount as well as use an exclusive ticket window at the box office.
When announcing the deal, the credit union cited its commitment to working to further financial education for young people, and the team's focus on using soccer to promote values such as trust, respect and accountability.

"The core values of TruMark Financial as they relate to the community align well with the Philadelphia Union, forming a strong partnership," Richard Stipa, TruMark Financial CEO said.
Both organizations are committed to youth in the community and helping them achieve success. TruMark Financial has a dynamic financial literacy program bringing classroom presentations to local schools and will work closely with the Union to expand its reach.
The team and the credit union said the relationship would include quarterly skills clinics on the field at PPL Park for students with a Philadelphia Union player or coach in attendance, and community involvement focusing on youth soccer initiatives and financial education.
The credit union said Philadelphia Union players would make an appearance and offer their support at TruMark Financial's annual Kiss-A-Pig Financial Literacy Fundraiser.
Over the past four years, the credit union has raised more than $140,000 and provided grants to local schools for personal finance resources such as textbooks and computer software.
"We are looking forward to working with the Philadelphia Union," Stipa said. "The partnership provides an opportunity to make a difference through education and community initiatives."
