A credit union foundation honored a recently retired board member with a small credit union assistance fund. Meanwhile, credit unions across the country continue to staff up.

EAST

The $1 billion Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union hired Barry Cohen as its vice president of operations and Rose Ruggiero as assistant vice president of collections. Cohen holds 16 years of experience in the financial services industry as well as extensive experience in operations management. Ruggiero has 26 years of experience in the financial services industry. The Lowell, Mass.-based credit union also promoted Donna Richardson to assistant treasurer and employee development manager and Jason Dubois to assistant treasurer and mortgage loan origination manager. Richardson joined the credit union nine years ago and Dubois was hired last year.

Kam Wong, president/CEO of the $2 billion Municipal Credit Union in New York City was appointed to the Baruch College Zicklin School of Business Advisory Council. The council advises the Zicklin School's dean, administration and faculty on strategic plans, programming and research initiatives, as well as helps cultivate financial resources to ensure the school's continued growth. Wong's appointment to the council is the continuation of a long-term partnership between MCU and Baruch College. Recently, MCU dedicated a classroom on Baruch's main campus, and Wong participated in the school's international outreach programs in Hong Kong.

The $388 million People's Credit Union in Middletown, R.I. appointed Stephen Elias as its indirect lending manager. With more than 20 years of financial services experience, Elias previously served as assistant regional credit manager for Citizens Automobile Finance.

Robert Potvin joined the $838 million St. Anne's Credit Union in Fall River, Mass., as its vice president of IT. With more than 16 years of IT experience, he recently served as assistant vice president and network manager at Bank Five.

MIDWEST

Carly McNeilus was named director of ecommerce sales and marketing of the $1.8 billion United Federal Credit Union in St. Joseph, Mich. She served previously as ecommerce technology manager in United FCU's IT Department.  McNeilus' previous experience includes working in marketing and consumer relations.

Sam Burns was named vice president of member services for the $848 million Purdue Federal Credit Union in West LaFayette, Ind. With 13 years of commercial banking experience, he served as account vice president for nearly a year at the cooperative.

The $467 million Heritage Federal Credit Union in Newburgh, Ind., promoted Jarrett Crowe as its enterprise solutions manager. With more than 10 years of IT and project management experience, he recently served as a help desk technician at the credit union.

SOUTH

Cheryl Hendricksen was promoted to director of lending for the $3.2 billion Space Coast Credit Union.  She joined the Melbourne, Fla.-based cooperative in 2009 and served as a senior mortgage underwriter, loss mitigation manager and underwriting manager.

The $8.3 billion Security Service Federal Credit Union in San Antonio promoted Barbara Taylor to senior vice president of payment services. She will be responsible for the operational and strategic direction of the credit union's payment channels.

Tiffany Cameron was named employee of the year at the $87 million GKCU in Georgetown, S.C. She joined the credit union eight years ago and serves as a loan officer. As one of the cooperative's top loan producers, Cameron was cited as a vital team member who works hard to serve members and assists coworkers with a variety of duties often without being asked.

WEST

The $729 million One Nevada Credit Union in Las Vegas promoted Paul Parrish to executive vice president and chief operating officer and Steve O'Donnell to senior vice president and chief financial officer. Parrish joined One Nevada Credit Union in 1981 and worked as a controller, senior vice president of finance and most recently as chief financial officer. O'Donnell joined the credit union in 1997 as a general accountant. During his career at the cooperative, he served as associate vice president and vice president in the financial and accounting areas.

Tammy Matthies was promoted to director of internal audit at the $4 billion Ent Federal Credit Union in Colorado Springs, Colo. With more than 23 years of financial services experience, she has been a member of the audit and risk management departments at the cooperative since 2008.

Jessie Crenshaw was named director of lending at the $177 million Altier Credit Union in Tempe, Ariz. With nearly 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, Crenshaw previously served as vice president of lending for the $98 million Heritage Grove Credit Union in Salem, Ore.

The $932 million Xceed Financial Credit Union in El Segundo, Calif., announced Steven Barrett and David Limerick joined its investment services group. Barrett previously worked for an insurance company where he was a partner. Limerick owned and operated a financial services and insurance firm.

TRADES

The New Jersey Credit Union Foundation recently created the Ann South Small Credit Union Assistance Fund in honor of the service of longtime board chair and member Ann South. She served on the board for more than 10 years and as chair for much of that time. Each year, the NJCUF will earmark $5,000 toward the Ann South Small Credit Union Assistance Fund, which will be used to aid small asset sized credit unions enhance their business. South, who recently vacated the board, initiated programs and grant opportunities for small cooperatives including the remote deposit capture grant program and the recent XP Sunset grant program.
