Julie Blitchok was appointed president/CEO of the $409 million Educational Community Credit Union in Kalamazoo, Mich., on March 2.
She succeeded former president/CEO Charles Cornelius, who retired after 36 years of service.
ECCU selected Blitchok from three finalists narrowed from a group of 10 candidates, the credit union said in a prepared statement.

Blitchok holds 23 years of credit union executive and leadership experience.
For 13 years, she served as senior vice president of retail operations for the $3.5 billion Lake Michigan Credit Union in Grand Rapids. Her prior experience also includes serving as president/CEO for smaller and mid-sized credit unions and as a board member for the Michigan Credit Union League. "I am both excited and honored to join ECCU as CEO," Blitchok said in a prepared statement. "I look forward to building on ECCU's strength, financial performance, and exceptional member service."
Educational Community CU serves more than 37,000 members and operates seven branches.
