Mary Dunn, CUNA deputy chief advocacy officer and senior counsel, is departing the association next month, CU Times has learned.
CUNA Chief Operating Officer and Chief of Staff Rich Meade said Dunn informed him and CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle that she will be leaving her current position effective April 3.
CUNA's annual Governmental Affairs Conference takes place March 8-12 in Washington.
"Fortunately, Mary has agreed to continue assisting the CUNA Advocacy Team for an interim period after April 3 as we fill vacancies on the team," Meade said in an email to staff.
Meade said the search for additions to CUNA's advocacy team would begin immediately.
"Mary has worked for CUNA for over 27 years and has made a number of contributions to the credit union system and to this organization. Her expertise, commitment to excellence and determination on behalf of credit unions are well known and we wish her all the best as she pursues new opportunities," he said.
In January, CUNA restructured its leadership team and eliminated some positions.
