CUNA announced Feb. 27 it has hired another executive to take credit union message to Congress.
Robert Henson, a former legislative assistant to Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska), has joined CUNA"s team as Associate Director of Advocacy. Henson also brings experience with housing issues from work at the Federal Housing Administration.
Henson will manage CUNA's relationship with Democratic senators and will assist on issues such as data and cybersecurity, regulatory relief, tax and consumer matters, CUNA said.

"I am very excited to have Robert join CUNA's advocacy team; his background will help CUNA in a multitude of ways," Ryan Donovan, CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer said "He'll be in constant contact with Senate democrats regarding all legislative activity that impacts credit unions on behalf of CUNA and its members."
