How to Lead When You're Not A Leader

In such instances where incompetence seems to rise to the top and third string players become in charge of the first string-starting lineup, what can you do to move the needle in a direction that’s productive and effective without inciting unnecessary ego battles or personality conflicts?

Plenty. First, remember that leadership is not indicative of position or title but rather personal choice . Choosing the priorities that yield the highest impact, choosing to build relationships with the people and choosing to have difficult conversations with those same people are just some of the daily actions you can take to exercise personal leadership.
