Credit unions in the East and Midwest announced new hires and promotions while the trades elected new board members. Read more about career news below.

EAST

The $1 billion Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union in Lowell, Mass., announced the expansion of its mortgage lending division by hiring three additional senior loan officers: Kevin McGoff, Bo Stevens and Jeff Wright who hold a combined 52 years of mortgage lending experience.

Colleen Mulligan was hired as training and business development director for the $75 million Community Resource Federal Credit Union in Latham, N.Y. She was previously employed with the $439 million Sunmark Federal Credit Union also in Latham, as a sales coach for eight years.

The $303 million Maine Savings Federal Credit Union in Hampden, Maine, announced that it promoted five employees. Karen Ellis was promoted to a branch supervisor from a member service representative, loan officer and teller operations supervisor. Ryan Johnson was promoted to branch supervisor from member service representative and loan officer. Kristen Brasslett was promoted to teller operations supervisor. She previously worked as a teller. Brett Speed was promoted to member service representative and loan officer and previously worked as a teller. SaraEllen Gilden was promoted to member service representative and loan officer. She previously served as a teller.

The $179 million First Financial Credit Union in Wall Township, N.J., promoted Matthew Brazinski to director of business development. He joined the cooperative as a branch manager in October 2013.

Sokha Thong was promoted to assistant vice president, regional manager at the $1.1 billion Workers' Credit Union in Fitchburg, Mass. She previously served as a branch manager.

MIDWEST

The $1.7 billion Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union in St. Paul, Minn., hired Kristina M. Wright as its SVP of member experience. She brings 14 years of industry experience to the credit union,  most recently worked at the Minnesota Credit Union Network as a vice president and served as executive director of the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation from 2011 to 2014.

Jeffrey Poxon joined the $848 million Purdue Federal Credit Union in West Lafayette, Ind., as an associate vice president investment officer. As a Purdue University graduate, he brings experience from the financial services and insurance industry to the cooperative. He also served as a director on the board of the Federal Home Loan Bank in Indianapolis.

Jeff Pisarsky was promoted to vice president of marketing at the $599 million Honor Credit Union in St. Joseph, Mich. He holds 17 years of experience in the credit union industry, including two years as Honor CU's director of marketing.

Jeff Curry, vice president of operations for the $1.8 billion United Federal Credit Union in St. Joseph, Mich., was named the 2015 Credit Union Community Volunteer of the Year by the Michigan Credit Union Foundation. The award recognizes a credit union employee or member with a history of exemplary volunteer service outside of the credit union system. Curry was nominated by co-workers and community leaders who lauded his dedication to community service, volunteering with numerous southwest Michigan nonprofit organizations for more than 25 years.

The $2 billion Summit Credit Union in Madison, Wis.,  appointed Melanie Ruelas and Samantha Annen as branch managers. Ruelas joined Summit in 2008 and most recently served as an assistant branch manager and holds nearly 13 years of banking experience. Annen brings more than 10 years of financial services experience. She was an assistant branch manager and served as a financial service specialist.

SOUTH

The $8.1 billion Security Service Federal Credit Union promoted Thomas Gillard to assistant vice president of core applications. He joined the San Antonio-based credit union in 2013 as a core development manager.

TRADES

The board of directors of the National Credit Union Foundation in Madison, Wis., re-elected Laida E. Garcia, president/CEO of the $390 million Florida Central Credit Union in Tampa, Fla., as the board's chair. Winona Nava, president/CEO of the $133 million Guadalupe Credit Union in Santa Fe, N.M., was elected as the board's vice chair. Lee C. Butke, president/CEO of the $3.6 billion Corporate One Federal Credit Union in Columbus, Ohio, was re-elected the board's treasurer and Angela S. McCathran, president/CEO of the $470 million People's Trust Federal Credit Union in Houston, was elected the board's secretary.

Mountain West Credit Union Association President/CEO Scott Earl joined the Western CUNA Management School board of trustees. He began his credit union career in 1982 as marketing director for the Utah League of Credit Unions, currently the Utah Credit Union Association in Salt Lake City. He  was named president/CEO of the Utah League and its subsidiary, the Credit Union Service Corp., in 1991, a position he held until the end of 2003.

The $2.2 billion Mid-Atlantic Corporate Federal Credit Union announced that its former chair, Dennis Flickinger, retired after 10 years of service. He is the president/CEO and treasurer of $155 million First Capital Federal Credit Union in York, Pa.. Flickinger was elected to Mid-Atlantic Corporate's board of directors and its supervisory committee in 2005. He served as board chair from 2011 to 2013.
