Kenyon, TracieTracie Kenyon, president/CEO of the Montana Credit Union Network, was named chair of the American Association of Credit Union Leagues Wednesday.

She replaced Wendell Lyons, president/CEO of the Kentucky Credit Union League, who stepped down from the post on Monday, according to an AACUL statement.

The statement did not explain why Lyons stepped down as ACCUL chair, a position he was re-elected to in November. Lyons did not return a phone call seeking comment.

Kenyon assumed the chair position because she was AACUL's first vice chair, according to the association.

She has served on the AACUL board since 2010 and previously served as the organization's secretary and treasurer.

In her role as AACUL's first vice chair, Kenyon also served as chair of CUNA's Credit Union Legislative Action Council, according to AACUL.

“On behalf of the entire board, I want share my appreciation for the leadership that Wendell has provided over the past year, and we are pleased that he will continue to be an active member of AACUL,” Kenyon said in a statement.

With Kenyon's transition, other members of the board will move up one spot, which includes first vice chair, Mark Cummins, president/CEO of the Minnesota Credit Union Network; second vice chair, Scott Simpson, president/CEO of the Utah Credit Union Association; treasurer, Diana Dykstra, president/CEO, California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues; immediate past chair William Mellin, president/CEO of the New York Credit Union Association and Susan Newton, AACUL executive director.

The secretary board seat will be filled later, according to AACUL.
