The credit union community is mourning the death of Robert Huston, former president of the $501 million Zeal Credit Union in Livonia, Mich., and former chair of the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates.
Huston, 76, of Plymouth died Friday, according to an obituary posted on Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home's website.
"Bob was a great credit union leader, a wonderful friend and an awesome man. He was humble yet strong as a leader," David Adams, MCUL president/CEO, said in a prepared statement. "He was a good listener, but spoke forcefully when circumstances warranted it. He had a big heart and a kind word for everyone. He never wavered in his love for credit unions and the cooperative principles they represent."
