The NCUA has kept the registration open for the agency's Dec. 17 webinar, “Best Practices for Strong Internal Controls.”
The online event will feature Vanessa Lowe, economic development specialist with the NCUA's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives, which is also hosting the session.
Joette Colletts, risk management manager with CUNA Mutual Group, and Scott Butterfield, a consultant with Your Credit Union Partner, will also participate in the free webinar.
Topics covered include establishing an effective fraud prevention policy, internal controls for lending and teller operations as well as the effects of inadequate internal controls on insurance costs.
The NCUA recommends that participants allow pop-ups from the website for the webinar, which is expected to last 90 minutes.
Participants are able to send in questions in advance at [email protected] with the subject line, “Best Practices for Strong Internal Controls.”
The webinar will start at 2 p.m. ET Dec. 17.
