Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.), mayor of Redlands, Calif., is on track to win the House seat currently held by Rep. Gary Miller (R-Calif.), and defeat his opponent, Republican Paul Chabot.
Miller, vice chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, announced his retirement earlier this year from the seat representing the 31st district.
Aguilar, a former executive at the $856 million Arrowhead Credit Union in San Bernardino, Calif., had 1,600 votes more than Chabot as of Nov. 5, according to media reports.
