The NCUA's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives opened its Credit Union Service Provider portal up for access Tuesday.
The system is designed to give credit unions the ability to research credit union service providers and at no charge, provide information about registered vendors that can help credit unions find new, more cost effective ways to have their vendor needs met and better deliver services to members, according to the NCUA.
The portal will not offer reviews or endorsements of either products or vendors, the agency said.
"Credit unions are often looking for companies to provide products and services to help them meet members' needs, comply with regulations or just handle day-to-day operational requirements," William Myers, director of the Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives, said. "NCUA's new program can help them find the right supplier."
Vendors register through the federal government's System for Award Management database to participate in CUSP. Once a company is registered and validated, its information becomes available for credit unions perusing the portal, according to the NCUA.
