Pentagon Federal Credit Union announced this week that it has partnered with the USO to bring platinum recording artist Trace Adkins to Fort Hood, Texas, Nov. 1.

The $18 billion credit union in Alexandria, Va., presented the USO with a $100,000 donation in September to help fund the costs of the upcoming concert, which is designed to thank the military community and to increase camaraderie among troops, their families and the community, PenFed said.

"As a former Army officer, I know what it means for morale to have a superstar entertainer perform for the troops and community," James Schenck, PenFed president/CEO, said.

"Like all of our folks in uniform serving here in the states and around the globe, the soldiers and their families at Fort Hood have contributed their share, and then some, when it comes to the defense of the nation," Schenck added. "We are proud to partner with the USO and the Fort Hood Command Group."

Known for his trademark baritone voice, country music artist Adkins has sold more than 10 million albums.

Since 2002, he has participated in seven USO tours in Afghanistan, Bahrain, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Kuwait, and the U.S, according to the USO.

"The USO is proud to partner with PenFed and we are inspired by their generous donation to help us bring a very special concert to the Fort Hood military community," J.D. Crouch II, USO president/CEO, said. "With PenFed's support, our upcoming show with Trace Adkins will bring the Fort Hood community together and let them know we are always by their side."
