The $1.1 billion Utilities Employees Credit Union board of directors appointed Patricia Zyma as its new president/CEO, replacing Glen Yeager who retired.
Zyma, who previously served as EVP and CFO at the credit union, assumed the new role Oct. 1, the Wyomissing, Pa.-based UECU said Oct. 15.
"We knew Pat was the superlative person to lead UECU and provide the organization with a smooth transition," UECU Board President Steven Schumacher said. "She has the qualifications, the demeanor of a CEO, and real insight into the cultural success of the credit union."

Zyma joined UECU in 1997 and served in an executive leadership role throughout her career there.
During her tenure, Zyma participated in setting and implementing strategic direction and provided oversight for various finance and operational areas of the credit union, which serves more than 44,000 members from across the nation who work in the utilities industry.
"I look forward to working closely with UECU's board of directors and our talented staff, as we build upon our past success in offering products, services and technologies that provide solutions for the changing financial needs of our member-owners," Zyma said.
She brings 30 years of experience in the financial services industry to her new position, having previously served credit union clientele while working at CPA firm Reinsel & Co., now Reinsel Kuntz Lesher LLP in Lancaster, Pa.
Zyma is a CPA and a graduate of CUES' CEO Institute. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and is a member of the AICPA and PICPA accounting associations and various other professional organizations.
