CUNA has spent more money on the upcoming midterm election than any other previous election cycle.
Vice President of Political Affairs Trey Hawkins estimated that CUNA would spend a total of $5.5 million to $6 million on the midterm elections.
Last week, the trade group announced its plan to send direct mail to credit union members encouraging them to support specific candidates, including $265,000 on for Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) in the Iowa Senate race and $117,000 for Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.)
