Credit unions announced a number of vice president positions recently, including this round-up of People news from around the industry:
EAST
The $908 million CFCU Community Credit Union in Ithaca, N.Y. named Mark Hillegas as its vice president of consumer lending. He most recently served as vice president of lending at the $99 million Horizons Federal Credit Union in Binghamton, N.Y. for 15 years and also worked as a mortgage consultant at BSB Bank & Trust and as loan officer at the $137 million GHS Federal Credit Union in Binghamton.

Anthony Silvi was appointed senior vice president and chief lending officer at the $592 million Sb1 Federal Credit Union in Philadelphia. He served as the vice president of financial services for $656 million Freedom Credit Union in Warminster, Pa. since 2002 and previously worked as senior vice president of lending at First Penn Bank in Feasterville, Pa. and vice president/regional manager at Lumbermen's Mortgage Corp. in Union, N.J.
John Barnes joined the $102 million Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union in Geneva, N.Y. as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He most recently worked at the $379 million Reliant Community Federal Credit Union in Sodus, N.Y. and previously managed finance departments across a number of industries including manufacturing, insurance, advertising and corporate real estate.
Kristen Savoie and Mitchell Suzan were appointed to the positions of mortgage loan officers for the $604 million First Citizens' Federal Credit Union in Fairhaven, Mass. Savoie, who joined First Citizens' in 2012, holds more than five years of banking experience including extensive knowledge in the mortgage industry. Suzan, a recent graduate from Florida Southern College, is embarking on his new career in the credit union industry.
MIDWEST
Marta Elliott was appointed public relations coordinator at the $1.6 billion United Federal Credit Union in St. Joseph, Mich. Elliott's previous corporate communications experience includes positions with HighPoint Global LLC, American Electric Power and she also was the owner/principal executive of her own marketing and communications practice.
The $79 million Heartland Federal Credit Union in Dayton, Ohio, promoted three employees and hired one new employee. Joni Reel was promoted to vice president of operations. She most recently worked in business development and branch operations. Christopher Sadlier was promoted to vice president of finance and IT. He most recently served as controller for the credit union. Erika Whiting was promoted to vice president of marketing and member services and holds more than 14 years of marketing experience. Alisa Zink was hired as vice president of lending and branch operations and holds three decades of experience in the financial services industry.
The $2.8 billion Wright-Patt Credit Union of Beavercreek, Ohio, appointed Scott Everett as its general counsel. He joined the credit union in September after serving as an associate in the litigation department at Dinsmore Legal Counsel in Cincinnati.
Ryan Balts was named vice president of finance at the $1.9 billion Royal Credit Union in Eau Claire, Wis. With more than 11 years of experience in the financial services industry, he most recently worked as accounting manager and treasurer for the Citizens Community Federal Bank in Eau Claire.
WEST
The $291 million Sooper Credit Union in Arvada, Colo., named Carrie Langgard as its chief financial officer. Prior to joining Sooper CU, she served as CFO for the $473 million Premier Members Federal Credit Union in Boulder.
Barbara B. Kamm, president/CEO of the $1.7 billion Technology Credit Union in San Jose, Calif. was inducted into the Silicon Valley Capital Club's Wall of Fame for her professional lifetime achievements and extensive contributions as a dedicated business and community leader.
The $423 million SkyOne Federal Credit Union in Hawthorne, Calif., said Geoffrey Palenik, a registered representative affiliated with broker dealer CUSO Financial Services, earned the 2013 Silver Pacesetter Award, which honors top producing registered representatives among the nearly 200 of CFS credit union programs.
The $985 million Columbia Credit Union in Vancouver, Wash., promoted Tabitha Presser to vice president/branch manager. Presser, who previously served as assistant branch manager, started at the credit union as a parttime member service associate and also worked as a greeter and as a loan officer.
Gayle Smith was appointed as vice president/branch manager at the $985 million Columbia Community Credit Union in Vancouver, Wash. Smith will manage daily operations and have responsibility for the branch's overall success with production, sales, service and market growth.
