Amey R. Sgrignoli was appointed the new president/CEO of the $401 million Belco Community Credit Union on Wednesday, the Harrisburg, Pa.-based cooperative announced in a prepared statement.
Sgrignoli was acting president/CEO since January following the retirement of Lonny Maurer.
“Mr. Maurer has provided outstanding leadership to the credit union for 41 years and will be greatly missed,” said Richard Lytle, Belco's board chair. “On behalf of the board and staff, we thank him for his years of service and wish him continued successes in the future as he transitions to new activities in the years ahead.”
Sgrignoli brings more than 19 years of leadership experience in the financial industry and has worked extensively with credit unions throughout her career. She joined Belco in 2004 and worked in various roles. She graduated from Shippensburg University with a B.S. in Business Administration and a M.S. in Organization Development and Leadership.
“The board came to the conclusion that there was not a better person to lead Belco than Amey; she is a versatile, an accomplished leader and a proven innovator,” Lytle said. “We have the highest degree of confidence that her leadership will guide Belco Community Credit Union in this new chapter of growth and innovation.”
Sgrignoli said she is looking to the credit union's future with great expectations while remaining true to its heritage and mission of people helping people.
“It is my vision to be a leader who models Belco's vision and mission,” she said. “I am committed to ensuring that Belco continues to be our members' most valued, convenient, and trusted financial partner for life.”
Chartered in 1939, Belco serves more than 50,000 members and operates 11 branches throughout the south central region of the Keystone State.
