NAFCU President/CEO Dan Berger and Executive Vice President and COO Anthony Demangone released a new e-book on Friday titled, “Managing and Leading Well: It Ain't Rocket Science, But It's Still Hard Work!”
While traveling around the country giving speeches with Demangone on leadership, Berger said the two saw an opportunity for a book that helps credit union CEOs become better managers and develop the next generation of leaders.
“We've had a couple of CEOs saying if you look at the industry in the next three to five years, it looks like a lot of CEOs in the industry are retiring or are reaching retirement age, and some of them are very concerned about the leadership deficit,” Berger said in an interview with CU Times. “They want more training for their executive teams and managers at their credit unions.”
Berger said the book serves as a solid roadmap for aspiring leaders.
“It's not Dan and Anthony being all-knowing in this, but it's a good roadmap,” Berger said. “We hope the book helps credit unions become stronger.”
Berger also said the book cites examples of initiatives and best practices that have worked at credit unions and other institutions across the country.
