The $581 million LAFCU said it's the first financial institution in central Michigan to offer interactive teller machines.
LAFCU said it has deployed three of the machines at its Mason, Mich., branch and is staffing the machine during regular business hours through a teller at its main branch in Lansing. The 55,700-member credit union said it plans to add five more video tellers next year across its 11-county territory.
“This technology allows LAFCU to offer enhanced services at existing locations and to expand to new locations utilizing best-in-class technology,” EVP Patrick Spyke said Thursday. “Because the machines perform routine check imaging and cash-counting functions, the video-access tellers can focus solely on responding to member needs.”
LAFCU – which was Lansing Automakers Federal Credit Union until it obtained a state charter last year – said it worked with Informa Business Systems in Flushing, Mich., to deploy the machines from Atlanta-based NCR.
