Retail investment clients at credit unions can now capture document images via their mobile devices and send them to financial advisers. The service was made possible by a new mobile app from sister companies CUSO Financial Services LP and Sorrento Pacific Financial LLC.
The firms have launched SendMyDocs, which allows a client to snap a photo of his or her personal account documentation, securely captures it, uploads it automatically into dataVISION, and alerts the client's adviser of the new document, according to CFS.
The San Diego-based companies said dataVISION is the proprietary, web-based account management system used by the companies' advisers to simplify administration, communications, sales and reporting functions.
SendMyDocs makes it easy for clients who live a far distance from the bank or credit union to set up and support their investment accounts, CFS said. It is available for any iOS or Android device user, including iPad, iPhone, Android and other smartphone or tablet devices.
CFS and SPF said they will offer training on the app via online modules. Advisers can also set up clients to use it.
Mitzi McMillin, senior vice president for business systems at both companies, said the new SendMyDocs app directly supports customers' mobile strategies.
“We see the benefits to efficiency that technology creates and we will continue to add advancements that can increase convenience and ease for both clients and advisers,” McMillin said.
The SendMyDocs app is the second mobile document imaging application released by CFS and SPF in the past year.
Mobile Scanning App enabled the companies' advisers to transmit documentation immediately while they were meeting with clients, directly into the dataVISION system. It won a Technology Innovation award from the Bank Insurance & Securities Association in March, CFS and SPF said.
