CU*Answers won one and lost one in the latest series of conversion announcements from credit union core processors.
The $18 million Newark Firemen Federal Credit Union in Newark, N.J., has completed its conversion to the CU*BASE platform through CU*SOUTH, an Alabama-based CUSO that is an affiliate of CU*Answers, the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based CU*Answers said.
Meanwhile, Computer Marketing Corp. in Sandy, Utah, said it converted the $30 million Blue Mountain Credit Union of Walla Walla, Wash., back to its FLEX system after it had converted away from FLEX six years ago. Blue Mountain was most recently on the CU*BASE platform through CU*NorthWest, a Liberty Lake, Wash., affiliate of CU*Answers.
The $65 million Scenic Falls Federal Credit Union of Idaho Falls, Idaho, also converted to the FLEX platform. The conversion streamlined operations by eliminating a host of independently developed interfaced solutions supplied by the previous core processor, CMC/FLEX said.
Scenic Falls had been on the CUnify platform from Fiserv, according to Callahan & Associates data.
According to the 2014 Credit Union Core Processors Market Share Guide from Callahan, Fiserv now has more than 2,300 core processing customers on its platforms, including about 120 on the CUnify platform it acquired when it bought Open Solutions last year. CMC/Flex has about 260. About 225 credit unions run on CU*BASE through CU*Answers and its CUSO affiliates CU*NorthWest and CU*South.
CU*NorthWest, meanwhile, said it now has its 20th credit union owner: The $14 million Family First Federal Credit Union in Great Falls, Mont.
