Through a new alliance, CUNA Mutual Group is planning to launch a TruStage Health Insurance program.

The Madison, Wis.-based company said it has partnered with GoHealth,  a private health insurance marketplace to make it happen.

Credit unions affiliated with TruStage will soon be able to offer health insurance solutions to their members through a variety of health plans, CUNA Mutual said. Through GoHealth, consumers can access all of the plans available on healthcare.gov, as well as additional plans from carriers.

To date, Chicago-based GoHealth has helped more than 30 million consumers shop for coverage online with its private health insurance marketplace, according to CUNA Mutual.

During the next open enrollment period beginning in November, an estimated eight million credit union members will seek health insurance coverage through an exchange, CUNA Mutual said.

TruStage serves more than 14.8 million members with insurance products and programs for life, auto, homeowners, and accidental death and dismemberment. CUNA Mutual said the addition of health insurance options advances the company's mission to build financial security for members' families.

Credit unions enrolled in the MemberCONNECT program, which is the conduit for credit unions to make TruStage products available, will receive an invitation to a webinar to learn more about the TruStage Health Insurance program.
