The $966 million Arkansas Federal Credit Union in Jacksonville, Ark., said Monday that Vice President/COO Rodney Showmar will replace President/CEO Larry Biernacki when he retires Aug. 4.
Showmar also was vice president of marketing and business development at AFCU from 2001 to 2008, and prior to that worked as a senior marketing research analyst at Reliant Energy and a senior buyer at Dillard's Inc. He was also the founder of Partygras Party Rentals Inc. in Little Rock.
“Rodney has extensive operations and financial management experience and is just the individual to lead us on our continuing journey of growth and development,” Phillip B. Boudreaux, chairperson of the 95,500-member credit union's board, said in the announcement.
AFCU was founded in 1956 to serve Little Rock Air Force Base. Following nine mergers in the 90s, it now is the state's largest credit union, the announcement said. Biernacki has been president/CEO since 2005.
