SAN FRANCISCO – America's Credit Union Conference continued Tuesday, featuring a full schedule of speakers, tours and events. (See our separate photo slide show of the culinary tour.)
During the morning's special best practice educational sessions, CUNA Vice President Doug Benzine spoke to a standing-room-only crowd about the future of credit unions.
Meanwhile, during the same best practices time slot, The Rochdale Group's Jeff Owen addressed another group on enterprise risk management.
Diebold's Brian Porter addressed a third best practices audience on engineering the right branch experience.
ACUC conference goers networked outside the exhibit hall.
Inside the exhibit hall, attendees found a space where they could network, hear what vendors have to offer and enjoy some fun and games.
Keynote speaker Simon Sinek was also the day's luncheon attraction. The best-selling author told the capacity keynote crowd the cost of leadership is self-interest.
“This is why we have so many issues with the bankers. Great leaders would sacrifice the people to save the numbers, they would never sacrifice the numbers to save the people,” he said.
Andy Wright, AVP of marketing and online delivery for Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, lectured on the value of staging community events.
Jeffrey K. Rohrs, VP of marketing insights at ExactTarget, a salesforce.com company, discussed ways to target marketing in the age of online subscribers, fans and followers during his breakout session Tuesday afternoon.
