The $1.1 billion Harborstone Credit Union in Lakewood, Wash., was a sponsor of the Operation Recruitment Enlistment Dinner last month in the Marcus Pavilion at Saint Martin's University in Lacey, Wash. More than 300 Pierce County high school students committed to serving in the armed forces were recognized and took their Oath of Enlistment (shown here) administered by Maj. Thomas Cunningham III, commander of the Seattle Marine Recruiting Station. The ceremony, begun three years ago, is hosted by the Washington State Army Advisory Board in conjunction with the Association of the United States Army. More than 750 people attended this year's event, for which Carlene Joseph, vice president of community development at Harborstone, served on the planning committee.
