Eight credit unions were recently recognized for their lending practices in 2013 by CU Direct.
The Ontario, Calif.-based lending and automotive services CUSO gave outs its 2014 Best Practices Awards at its annual lending and marketing conference last week in Las Vegas.
In the category of portfolio management, the $260 million Wisconsin's Superior Choice Credit Union in Superior, Wis., and the $656 million Silver State Schools Federal Credit Union in Las Vegas received the best practice award.

The $8 billion Security Service Federal Credit Union in San Antonio and the $188 million Lake State Credit Union in Moose Lake, Minn., were honored in the category of business development.
For their success in the category of marketing to members, the $2 billion Summit Credit Union in Madison, Wis., and the $532 million Centris Federal Credit Union in Omaha, Neb., were presented with a best practice award.
Rounding out the awards, CU Direct also recognized the $986 million Northeast Credit Union in Portsmouth, N.H., and the $922 million Communication Federal Credit Union in Oklahoma City with the CU Direct Diamond Award, for their continued success in advancing their lending programs and championing the importance of a credit union-owned delivery channel, the CUSO said.
