The NCUA's new director of its Office of Minority and Women Inclusion will earn an annual salary up to $240,000.

According to USAJobs.gov, the salary range for the position is $174,818.00 to $240,000.00 annually, which is set by the NCUA Board, unless delegated to the executive director. The compensation is based on the position's potential contribution to the agency's overall strategic goals and the individual's qualifications.

All applications and supporting documents must be received by May 7, the site said.

Section 342 of the Dodd-Frank Act requires the OMWI Director to develop standards for "increased participation of minority owned and women-owned businesses in the agency's program and contracts including standards for coordinating technical assistance to such businesses."

The director would also be in charge of evaluating the diversity policies and practices of credit unions regulated by the NCUA.

The supervisory role also includes advising the NCUA Board and senior leadership on the equal employment opportunity program and diversity in procurement and contracts. The director would also be required to brief Congress as necessary on related matters.

"At the NCUA you're not just a number, working to make quotas or improve the bottom line, you have the opportunity to make a difference," the job posting said.

Tawana Y. James retired from the OMWI director's position in January of this year. Linda Dent, NCUA's associate general counsel for administrative law took over as acting director.

In addition to standard federal benefits, the NCUA offers exclusive benefits including access to an NCUA-owned fitness facility on-site at the central office and a fitness facility subsidy for region staff, garage parking or monthly transit subsidy as well as a domestic partner health insurance subsidy.

"On average, NCUA's benefits package is $18,000 or 32% higher than the typical Federal employer; of this amount, $8,000 in annual cash flow is received from the transit subsidy, 401(k), 401(k) match, health, dental, and vision subsidies," said the NCUA's website.
