The NCUA is hosting a financial literacy twitter chat on April 23 for credit unions and consumers from 11 a.m. to noon.
Kenneth Worthey, financial literacy and outreach analyst with the NCUA's Office of Consumer Protection, will host the event as part of Financial Literacy Month.
“I call upon all Americans to observe this month with programs and activities to improve their understanding of financial principles and practices,” said President Barack Obama in a presidential proclamation.
The event follows a financial literacy webinar hosted by the NCUA earlier this month where agency staff and leading financial education experts shared best practices for credit unions to help members expand their personal finance awareness.
The NCUA is posting links to personal finance resources throughout the month on its consumer Twitter feed, @MyCUgov, containing tips on ways to save, how to avoid fraud and scams, and how to improve credit scores.
Participants can also submit questions before the event to [email protected]. Credit unions and consumers can follow the conversation on @TheNCUA or join by using the #NCUAChat hashtag.
