Julie Kirsch, president/CEO of the $1 billion Meriwest Credit Union in San Jose, Calif., gave the keynote address at a student networking event as part of the Academy of Finance Program at Independence High School. The event presented the students a chance to engage in social mixing, networking and building relationships. It also included a panel of business speakers and breakout business education sessions. The Academy of Finance is offered at more than 260 high schools nationwide and offers course work on accounting, trade, leadership and technology and the opportunity to earn college credit.
