EAST

The $17 billion Pentagon Federal Credit Union in Washington said it named Jane Whitfield president/CEO of the PenFed Foundation. Whitfield will replace Christopher Flynn, who will return to his role as senior executive vice president of PenFed until his upcoming retirement. Whitfield has more than 20 years of nonprofit experience, including in senior positions with the UC Berkeley School of Law, Graduate Theological Union and Bay Area Legal Aid. She founded Whitfield Consulting in 2008. Her father and brother both served in the military and her son, Marine Sgt. Matthew Abbate, was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross for valor shown in an ambush in Afghanistan’s Helmand province in 2010.

The $237 million NH Federal Credit Union in Concord, N.H., appointed Stephanie Milender to its board of directors. She is the administrator for the New Hampshire’s Adjutant General’s Department. Holly Pratt was recently appointed to the supervisory committee. She is assistant controller for St. Paul’s School in Concord. Catherine Van Norstrand joined NHFCU as assistant to the president. She has extensive experience in administrative management and senior executive support in the legal, financial services and aerospace industries.

SOUTH

The $623 million Listerhill Credit Union in Muscle Shoals, Ala., said Andy Clark was authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to use the CFP certification mark. Clark has been in Listerhill’s financial services department since 2001.

The $235 million Piedmont Advantage Credit Union in Winston-Salem, N.C., named Lin Spears as the new branch and community development manager for southeast North Carolina and the Kenansville area. Spears has extensive background in banking in North Carolina and Florida and was a top-producing mortgage lender who has also worked as a branch manager and sales manager for two of the largest financial institutions in the Southeast.

The $2.2 billion Coastal Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, N.C., named T.J. Wyman as senior vice president of CUSOs and president of Coastal Federal Financial Group. Coastal and CFFG are majority owner of three CUSOs and minority owner of seven others. Wyman joined Coastal in 2002 and has since held vice president roles in insurance services, retail strategy and information technology.

MIDWEST

The $1.2 billion Centra Credit Union in Columbus, Ind., said Jonas Howell was hired as a commercial loan officer. Prior to joining Centra, he worked with First Financial Bank, Fifth Third Bank and Ameriprise Financial.

The $496 million Financial Center Federal Credit Union in Indianapolis promoted Leslie Gary, Eric Vermilion and Dewey Williams to regional managers to oversee sales and business relationships and community relations. Gary was promoted from district retail sales manager in Financial Center’s downtown location. Vermilion was district retail sales manager in the Greenwood office. Williams was district retail sales manager at the Castleton location.

The $2.5 billion Michigan State University Federal Credit Union promoted Scott Ring to manager of the Sparrow branch and Betty Jo Whipp to assistant manager of the South Lansing branch. Ring was hired in 2009 and had been assistant manager of the South Lansing branch. Whipp has been with MSUFCU since 2010 and was previously a traveling financial services representative.

WEST

The $118 million NW Preferred Federal Credit Union in Tigard, Ore., promoted Alisha Oliver to vice president of operations and manager of its Stayton branch. She has been with NW Preferred since 2005, most recently as assistant branch manager in Stayton.

The Mountain West Credit Union Association named Patti Hazlett as director of corporate communications. Hazlett has more than 20 years of communications experience, most recently as president of PH Communications, her private consulting practice.

The $2.3 billion Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, Calif., hired Robin Ashford as manager of its Point Arena branch. She has more than 20 years of customer service experience, most recently as a branch service officer with Westamerica Bank.

The $1.3 billion Numerica Credit Union in Spokane, Wash., hired Nicole Butler as manager of the Five Mile branch. She has seven years of financial services experience, most recently as branch manager in Poulsbo, Wash., for Kitsap Credit Union.

VENDORS

CU Business Group in Portland, Ore., promoted Mark Hayhurst to vice president and controller. He joined the CUSO in 2003 and since 2009 has been responsible for the organization’s internal accounting.

TMG Financial Services in Des Moines, Iowa, added a new employee and promoted seven others. Eric Schurr, formerly vice president of credit and risk, was promoted to chief strategy officer. Aimee Dunn, formerly operations manager, was promoted to director of operations. Lance Kettering was promoted from senior financial analyst to financial planning and analysis manager. Corey Skadburg was promoted from credit and risk manager to credit and risk group manager. Jessica Hill was promoted from collections analyst II to collections analyst team lead. Angie Pederson was promoted to manager of client services. Aubrey Ward was promoted from underwriting coordinator to credit analyst. Megan Riddle was hired as project specialist. She had been a sponsorship services and events manager at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas.
