The $17 billion Pentagon Federal Credit Union in Washington said it named Jane Whitfield president/CEO of the PenFed Foundation. Whitfield will replace Christopher Flynn, who will return to his role as senior executive vice president of PenFed until his upcoming retirement. Whitfield has more than 20 years of nonprofit experience, including in senior positions with the UC Berkeley School of Law, Graduate Theological Union and Bay Area Legal Aid. She founded Whitfield Consulting in 2008. Her father and brother both served in the military and her son, Marine Sgt. Matthew Abbate, was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross for valor shown in an ambush in Afghanistan’s Helmand province in 2010.

The $237 million NH Federal Credit Union in Concord, N.H., appointed Stephanie Milender to its board of directors. She is the administrator for the New Hampshire’s Adjutant General’s Department. Holly Pratt was recently appointed to the supervisory committee. She is assistant controller for St. Paul’s School in Concord. Catherine Van Norstrand joined NHFCU as assistant to the president. She has extensive experience in administrative management and senior executive support in the legal, financial services and aerospace industries.
