The Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee confirmation hearing for Mark McWatters to serve on the NCUA Board has been rescheduled for March 13.
The hearing, originally scheduled for March 4, was postponed due to inclement weather in the Washington, D.C. metro area. The federal government was closed on March 3 and had a delayed opening on March 4.
McWatters' nomination to succeed Michael Fryzel as the Republican member of the three-person NCUA board was announced on Dec. 18. McWatters served on the TARP Congressional Oversight Panel from December 2009 to April 2011. He was also legal counsel for Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) in 2009.
In addition to McWatters, the committee will consider the nomination of Dr. Stanley Fischer as vice chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Jerome H. Powell and Lael Brainard, both nominees for members of the Federal Reserve Board, will also testify at the hearing.
Gustavo Velasquez Aguilar, the nominee for assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, will appear on the panel as well.
The hearing, which will be streamed live online, will take place in room 538 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
