Nicholas Mayhew has been named president/CEO of GPO Federal Credit Union in New Hartford, N.Y., after serving on its board for 25 years. He most recently was vice president and chief financial officer at Rome Memorial Hospital in Rome, N.Y., and succeeds John Prumo, who is retiring after more than 40 years of service.
Pamela Roy has been named to the newly created position of human resources administrator at New Hampshire Federal Credit Union in Concord. N.H. She had joined NH Federal Credit Union in 2007 as an executive assistant after 22 years of banking experience.
SOUTH
Robins Federal Credit Union in Warner Robins, Ga., has hired Brandi Bernthal as Forsyth branch manager, Amy Miller as Milledgeville branch manager and Joey Goodman as Swainsboro branch manager. Bernthal has more than 20 years of banking experience and has been with Bank of America for the past 11 years. Miller has seven years of management experience in banking and was previously employed at Certus Bank. Goodman has more than 15 years of banking experience, most recently with S Bank in Reidsville.
MIDWEST
Eli Lilly Federal Credit Union in Indianapolis has hired six mortgage loan originators and a team leader, Julie Bowering, who will be vice president of mortgage lending. Together they have more than 100 years of experience in financial services. The new team members are Luis Aparicio, Cindy Bell, Karla Chevrie, Andee Kettlebar, Sean Kiely and Tania Query.
Royal Credit Union in Eau Claire, Wis., has named Lowell Sutton as its senior home loan underwriter. He will help home loan team members with complex loan applications and be responsible for keeping up-to-date on investor guideline and regulatory changes. RCU also has named Matt Hall as branch manager of the RCU Hudson office. He most recently was assistant vice president at Bank Mutual in Hudson, Wis.
WEST
YOUR Community Credit Union in Irving, Texas, has promoted Joe Adair to the newly created position of vice president for business development. Adair joined YCCU in 2011 as assistant vice president and branch manager and also has been a senior financial sales adviser for BBVA Compass Bank.
One Nevada Credit Union in Las Vegas has hired four new corporate employees. They are John Mark, dealer loan marketing representative. He had been a finance director at an independent dealer in Delaware. Michael Zufelt is a new commercial loan officer. Sarah Gossner has been named to product marketing manager after serving as marketing manager at Merkur Group, and Jara Pearson is social media specialist after serving as director of social media for Light Group.
VENDORS
Andrew Downin has joined Filene Research Institute in Madison, Wis., as innovation director and leading the i3 program. Downin's expertise is in credit, debit and prepaid card strategy and program development. A CPA, he had been manager of product development for SchoolsFirst Credit Union in Santa Ana, Calif.
Palmetto Cooperative Services LLC in Irmo, S.C., has promoted John Slack to chief operations officer at the item processing CUSO. Slack, a 23-year credit union industry veteran, joined PCS in 2010 and has led PCS's sales organization since then. Prior, Slack served as president/CEO of the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation for four years and spent a decade with CUNA Mutual Group. PCS also has named Frank DeDonato to serve as the item processing CUSO's senior account manager responsible for new sales and relationship management in Georgia, Florida and Alabama. He has 19 years of credit union industry experience, and joins PCS from PFP.
Payments processor The Members Group in Des Moines, Iowa, has hired Laurie Minarik as senior director of client relations. She has served as both a leader in the retail division of First National Bank of Omaha and as a strategic account executive for First Data. Based in Omaha, Minarik will be the company's main point of contact for several clients throughout the continental U.S.
Michigan Business Connection in Ann Arbor, Mich., has hired Eric Pless as the CUSO's new vice president of business development and marketing. Pless has more than 15 years of business development, sales and marketing experience and at MBC will have responsibility for leading loan originators and designing and delivering origination support solutions to credit unions.
TRUST, the oldest and largest mutual fund family created for and by credit unions, re-elected Jim Barr as chair and elected Jim Regan as vice chair at its January trustee meeting. Barr became NAFCU's first CEO in 1971 and subsequently head of CUNA's Office of Governmental Affairs and has been a TRUST trustee since 1989. Regan is president/CEO of Digital Federal Credit Union in Marlborough, Mass., and has been on the TRUST board since 2013.
