The $1.4 billion American Heritage Federal Credit Union in Pennsylvania has presented its American Heritage Award to Dr. Steven M. Altschuler, CEO of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

The credit union presents the award to individuals the credit union's board feel go "above and beyond" in their service to their fellow man.

"Altschuler's untiring advocacy on behalf of children earned him the honor," American Heritage said. American Heritage's Kids-N-Hope Foundation supports the Music Therapy Program at CHOP, donating $100,000 in 2013, bringing the total on behalf of CHOP to more than $927,000 since the foundation's founding in 1996.
